Homestay Shimah Jay

Client project

A welcoming place to find your next family stay.

A bilingual website bringing eight homestays in Umbai and Telok Mas, Melaka into one easy-to-explore collection. Guests can compare houses, browse real photos and move from discovery to an enquiry.

The brief

Present the houses, facilities and location clearly, and give Malay- and English-speaking guests a straightforward way to contact the hosts.

What I built

Built a responsive Next.js App Router site with a dedicated page for each house, photo galleries, a trip planner, FAQs and a rule-based guest assistant. Malay uses the root URL; English uses /en, with permanent redirects for older /ms links.

UI / UX decisions

Warm natural colours, architectural curves and a clear visual hierarchy create a family-friendly feel. Two-column house cards help guests compare on mobile; touch galleries and prominent WhatsApp links support the enquiry journey.

Engineering

Typed house data feeds the cards, detail pages and assistant. Canonical URLs, hreflang, structured data and a sitemap support discoverability. Booking enquiries hand off to WhatsApp and external booking platforms; this is not an availability or payment engine.

Client project

From a first impression to an event enquiry.

A dedicated website for a Melaka catering business, built around its food, event packages and service information. A guided enquiry form helps visitors prepare the details the business needs for a quotation.

The brief

Make catering packages easy to discover and understand, showcase the food and event experience, and guide visitors towards a useful WhatsApp enquiry.

What I built

Created a multi-page Next.js site with package listings and detail pages, an image gallery, company information, FAQs and a contact page. The enquiry form gathers event details and opens WhatsApp with a prepared message.

UI / UX decisions

Bold food photography, a warm visual palette and distinct package cards put the offer first. Responsive image galleries, clear navigation and repeated enquiry links help visitors explore on both phones and desktops.

Engineering

Reusable React components and typed package content keep the site consistent. Next.js image handling, metadata, structured data, sitemap and robots configuration support delivery and discovery. Motion and Lenis provide animation and scroll behaviour. Enquiries are confirmed by the business, not by an online checkout.
